- Level 1 Trauma Designation
- Teaching Hospital: Yes, Academic Medical Center
- Chest Pain Center
- Stroke Center
- Beds: 8
- Census: Average patients/day: 8
- Will you accept a first-time traveler: Travel experience preferred
- General Medical; some Cardiac, Pneumonia, UTI, Chest Pain, fluid overload
- RN: 1:4
- CNA: 1:8
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- PCA, surgical drains, wound care, telemetry – cardiac rhythm interpretation, Cardizem/Amiodarone gtt experience (will accept without but must be comfortable to learn)
- CNA: Supports the RN by obtaining VS and blood glucose checks; assists with hourly safety rounds and ADLs.
- Receptionist/HUC
- Charge nurse: Charge Nurse is a free floating for the majority. On occasion, may have a full assignment.
- Phlebotomy: Yes, peripheral blood draws
- IV/VAT Team: No, we start our own IVs.
- RT 24/7: Yes, available – will need to page for assistance when needed
- Hospitalist 24/7
- Intensivist 24/7
- Telemetry monitoring/tech: Yes. Telemetry monitors on the unit.
- RNs are responsible for reading/interpreting strips during shift
- EMR: Epic
- IV Pump: Alaris
- Med dispensing: Omnicell
- Monitors: No monitors in the rooms.
- Unit specific equipment: PCAs, trachs, complex wound care
- Rehab, 4 Ardmore, 10 Reynolds, 9 Reynolds, 5 Ardmore, Burn-10 North, Throughput Unit
