Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our MedSurg/General Surgery unit for a 13-week contract. This position requires flexibility to work holidays, as candidates who are able to do so will be prioritized.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients on the MedSurg/General Surgery unit.
  • Maintain appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios, typically managing 1:6 patients, with occasional 1:7 ratios.
  • Participate in an every-other-weekend (EOW) rotation and a holiday rotation as part of the unit's scheduling.
  • Be available for call rotation as needed by the unit.
  • Float within scope to meet the facility's needs when necessary.

Schedule

  • Shift: Night, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) preferred, with options for 3x12-hour shifts also available.
  • All requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted upon application, subject to unit needs.

Qualifications

  • Active South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience is highly preferred; first-time travelers are accepted but not preferred.
  • Must be willing to adhere to the facility's local radius rule, which restricts acceptance of local candidates within a 60-mile radius.

Additional Information

  • Free parking is available.
  • Scrub colors are royal blue or white for RNs.
  • Charting will be done using EPIC systems.
  • During hurricane season (June to November), staff members may be assigned to emergency response teams as needed.
