Job Summary:
The location is in New Mexico. This position is for a Med/Surg (Medical Surgical Floor) registered nurse (RN) on a travel basis. The assignment involves general skilled nursing duties within a hospital setting. The role requires working days with a shift from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with floating and call responsibilities as needed. The start date is scheduled for August 31, 2026, for an initial period of 13 weeks.
Job Details:
- Location: 2430 W PIERCE STREET, CARLSBAD, NM 88220
- Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: One year minimum experience required, 2+ years experience preferred; BLS certification; valid nursing license; ability to work days with floating and call responsibilities; flexibility to float within scope of practice and clinical competency in rehab and medical-surgical settings
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with MedHost electronic medical record system, ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Additional Information: Please note that fingerprints for all travel nurses in New Mexico are required, and only candidates from agencies registered with the state of New Mexico should be submitted due to processing times. There is no on-call schedule for the medical-surgical unit; on-call may be required for census flexibility before shift start if census is low. Nurse duties include general skilled nursing care at a skilled nursing facility (SNF) level of care, serving a patient ratio of 1:8. Scrub color is flexible.
- Important Note: This is a contract extension/replacement position with no on-call schedule for Med-Surg.
