Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact RN license accepted
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or related acute care nursing experience
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and excellent bedside nursing skills
- Experience assisting providers with bedside procedures
- Comfort working with common Medical/Surgical diagnoses and post-op patients
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality care to general Medical/Surgical patients with varied acuity
- Monitor patient conditions, document accurately in EPIC, and communicate changes promptly
- Assist with bedside procedures and support providers as needed
- Manage common Med/Surg conditions such as COPD exacerbation, sepsis, pneumonia, stroke, renal failure, and post-op recovery
- Perform and support care involving chest tubes, central lines, tracheostomy care, CPAP/BiPAP, wound vacs, and more as appropriate
- Administer medications and therapies safely, including IV medications and drips per unit protocol
- Collaborate with charge nurses, nursing assistants, and ancillary staff to deliver team-based patient care
- Float to other nursing areas as needed based on census and skill set
