Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care in a Medical Surgical Unit. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of compassion, professionalism, and clinical expertise to support a diverse patient population ranging from adolescents to geriatrics.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer nursing care to patients with medical-surgical diagnoses.
• Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in patient conditions.
• Utilize Epic and other unit systems for patient management and medication administration.
• Maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively with the healthcare team using SBAR.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of charge RN experience required; first-time travelers are accepted.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Experience in a Medical Surgical setting is preferred.

Shift and Schedule

• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
• Requirement to work every other weekend unless specified otherwise.
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice is expected as needed.

Unit Information

• Medical Surgical Unit with remote telemetry capabilities.
• Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6 in a 38-bed unit with an average daily census of 33.

Holiday Requirements

Travelers are expected to work one major holiday if it falls within their assignment period. If two major holidays occur, the traveler is expected to work both. For three major holidays, two are required. The major holidays include:

• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving/Black Friday
• Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
• New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

Compliance and Onboarding

Full compliance is required to start on time. Non-compliance may result in a delay due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.
