Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor (MS) registered nurses are needed in a day shift position within a healthcare facility. This unit primarily cares for patients undergoing total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology procedures, abdominal surgeries such as laparoscopic appendectomy and bowel resection, bariatric surgeries, along with medical overflow, hematology drainage, colostomies, and other general surgical cases. The role involves managing various patient needs in an acute care setting, supporting early ambulation and post-operative recovery protocols.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Dayshift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS Certification, minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a medical-surgical setting, and location eligibility.
• Preferred Qualifications: Surgical experience, post-operative care, early ambulation experience, and ability to adapt to first-time traveler roles.
• Float: Floating to medical and telemetry areas; assistance with strip interpretation and patient management in those units may be required.
• Additional Information: Bedside shift report is an expectation. Staff are expected to follow unit protocols including dress code (scrubs provided). Effective communication and teamwork are valued in this close-knit unit. RTO (Request for Time Off) must be submitted within the first 7 days of the contract; no further RTO will be approved.
• Certifications: BLS Certification.
• Start Date: 10/19/2026 and end date: 01/18/2027.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred in a medical-surgical environment; however, new graduates with relevant experience may be considered.
• Additional Notes: This position involves managing complex surgical patients with multiple procedures and diagnoses, with a focus on quality patient care and efficient unit operation.
