Job Requirements

• Active Virginia RN license or compact Registered Nurse license at the time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of relevant Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, teaching-oriented healthcare environment
• Availability for every other weekend and at least one major holiday during the assignment

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to Medical-Surgical patients in an inpatient hospital setting
• Monitor patient conditions, assess changes, and respond appropriately to clinical needs
• Administer medications and treatments according to care plans and nursing standards
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to support positive patient outcomes
• Assist with postoperative care and complex surgical patient care as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and promote clear communication across the care team
• Support unit operations with professionalism, flexibility, and a strong teamwork mindset
