• Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Weekend Requirement: 2 to 3 weekends per month based on unit need
• Holiday Requirement: Must work at least one major holiday
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 - $1,890

Job Requirements

• Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant Med/Surg or orthopedic specialty
• Travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Ability to work overnight shifts with limited time-off requests
• Flexibility to support occasional charge nurse responsibilities with training provided

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical and orthopedic patients in an acute care hospital setting
• Manage a patient population that is approximately 60% orthopedic and 40% general medical
• Monitor patient status, administer medications, and support individualized care plans in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to promote positive patient outcomes
• Participate in unit workflows and maintain strong communication with team members
• Adapt to a teaching hospital environment and provide a supportive presence for students and new hires
• Assist with charge nurse responsibilities when assigned and trained
• Contribute to a culture of teamwork, flexibility, and excellent patient care
