Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit managing common diagnoses including CHF, COPD, cellulitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, AKI, and related conditions
• Maintain patient ratios of up to 1:6/7; candidates must be comfortable with a ratio of up to 1:7
• Titrate heparin drips based on aPTT results as directed by physician orders
• Monitor and manage patients on intermittent BiPAP; unit does not utilize ventilators
• Collaborate with PCTs and monitor technicians who remotely watch telemetry on the unit
• Float to other units as needed based on census; travel staff are typically the first to float

Required Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered RN license; any licensing history or hits must be disclosed at time of submission
• BLS certification (required)
• NIHSS certification (required)
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled (typically approximately half of total weekends)
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• A copy of a valid, unexpired driver's license must be included with submission

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience working with telemetry-monitored patients in a Medical Surgical setting
• Familiarity with heparin drip titration protocols
• Experience working alongside PCTs and charge RNs in a team-based care environment
