Job Summary:
Med Surgical Floor (MS) registered nurse position is located in Wausau, Wisconsin. The role involves providing comprehensive care in a fast-paced post-surgical unit with a focus on pre and post-surgical adult and geriatric patients. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic environment requiring strong multitasking and prioritization skills, with a schedule that includes 12-hour rotating shifts.

Job Details:

• Location: Wausau, WI
• Start Date: 08/03/2026
• Schedule: 12-hour day/night variable shifts, with a guaranteed minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license, BLS (American Heart Association or ARC), at least 2+ years of medical surgical experience, recent hospital experience, trauma level II experience, Epic charting experience, and prior travel experience if applicable
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Shift Requirements: 12-hour shifts with a rotation between days and nights; every other weekend and holiday; unit is closed during holidays; flu season policy mandates wearing masks if declined vaccines
• Float: Float rotation may be required to all inpatient units, but not on call
• Additional Information: The unit is a 40-bed inpatient post-surgical care area with high patient turnover, occupancy of 90-95%, and an average length of stay of 2-3 days. Nurses must efficiently multitask and work collaboratively to address patient acuity and needs.
