A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical (Med Surg) is needed for a facility located in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. The position involves providing observation and inpatient care to patients on the Med Surg Unit. The RN will assess and prioritize patient needs, administer nursing procedures, monitor patient conditions, educate patients and families, and collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure effective and continuous patient care.

- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36.0

- Certifications/Education: Graduate of an accredited RN program; current Colorado RN license or ability to obtain; AHA BLS certification; ACLS certification (or completion within 3 months); PALS certification (or completion within 3 months); Cerner Electronic Health Record experience required; Basic computer skills and electronic health record experience required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of Med Surg or Emergency Room experience required; previous traveler experience required.
- Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, administering medications and treatments, monitoring cardiac rhythms, patient and family education, and documenting in electronic health records.
- The role requires performing age-specific nursing care, operating infusion pumps, and adhering to infection prevention practices.
- Work environment involves exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and potential hazards, requiring physical strength and the ability to perform heavy work including lifting, pushing, pulling, and assisting with patient movement.
- Candidate must demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
