Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical / Surgical

Summary:

The competent Nurse practices independently in a clinical setting and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. The Nurse provides both routine and complex medical care, develops long-range goals, and continues to enhance their competence in managing clinical contingencies. They will effectively delegate tasks among care providers to ensure comprehensive and efficient patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Meets expectations of applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care adhering to the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families according to their level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocols, while monitoring for side effects and the effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and educates patients, family members, and caregivers while identifying relevant issues and resources.

Requirements:

Education/Skills

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• BLS certification via AHA required.
• RN License in the state of employment or compact.

Work Schedule:

7 AM - 7 PM, full-time commitment.

Additional Information:

• Weekend requirement: 3 weekends in a 6-week schedule.
• Patient to nurse ratio: 6:1.
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used: Epic.
• Dress code: Ceil Blue scrubs.
