Opportunity:

RN - OBS 6N & 6C (Stepdown & Floor)

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with available schedules of 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week with 3x12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend requirement
• May be expected to work holidays as needed
• Acute care setting on a 31-bed unit spanning two separate units on the same floor
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 for floor patients with nurse aides available (3-4 aides for 31 patients)
• Charge nurse present on each shift with house supervisor in-house 24/7
• Common diagnoses include MedSurg, Cardiac, IDDM, COPD, Trauma, Ortho, ENT, Urology, and pain management
• Unit sees high patient turnover of approximately 10-12 patients per day
• Must be able to titrate drips including Heparin gtts on the floor
• Telemetry on unit with tele techs available; RNs must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Respiratory therapy in-house 24/7; no vents on this unit
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Royal Blue
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS

The facility maintains robust support services including 24/7 in-house respiratory therapy, house supervisors, and telemetry monitoring technicians.
