Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Evansville, Indiana.
Observation MS RN - Nights - Deaconess Midtown **Clinical Interview**.
NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE).
Contract Length: 13 weeks.
Start: 8/24 - Bi-weekly orientation.
Guaranteed Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request).
*OT will go into effect after 52hrs on 48hr contracts.
Primary location: Midtown.
Shift Requirement: 12hr Nights 6:30-7.
Float Requirement: First to float within skillset.
Deaconess Newburgh (IN) campus (8 miles apart) & potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY – 11 miles).
2 HR notice given for cross campus float.
Mid-shift float within same campus.
Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.
On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A.
Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six week schedule.
Every other holiday.
Required Certs to be attached upon submittal: Must have current active compact license.
AHA BLS and NIHSS.
Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Two years of strong Med/Surg and 1 travel assignment.
Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class).
Patient Population: Cardiac (chest pain, stress test/Lexiscan, post cath without intervention), CVA/TIA, hypotensive, syncope/dizziness, SOB, post-surgical, GI/Urology pre/post procedure, AKI, cellulitis, detox/CIWA.
Skillset: Cardiac cath recovery (femoral/TR bands), post-surgical care (appy, chole, stones), NIHSS/Neuro assessment/dysphagia screen, initiate/titrate drips (Heparin, Insulin), indwelling drain management, straight cath/foley care, NG tube insertion, blood administration/documentation.
Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
Unit Information: 23 beds.
Ratio: Days (0700-1500) – 1:4-5; PMs (1500-1900) – 1:5-6; Nights (1900-0700) – 1:6-7 CN takes patient assignment on all shifts.
