Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The ideal candidate will deliver evidence-based nursing care to patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions while collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to promote positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to assigned medical-surgical patients.
Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, responses to treatment, and changes in clinical status.
Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and blood products in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
Assist physicians during patient examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
Monitor vital signs and physiological data, recognizing and responding appropriately to changes in patient condition.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, procedures, and discharge instructions.
Coordinate patient care with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other members of the healthcare team.
Delegate appropriate patient care tasks to support staff while ensuring quality and safety.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and professional standards.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
Minimum of 1 year of acute care nursing experience.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate Compact RN License (eNLC).
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Strong knowledge of professional nursing practices, patient assessment, and clinical decision-making.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced healthcare environment.
Basic computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher.
Previous travel nursing experience.
Trauma care experience.
Schedule
13-week contract
36 hours per week
Three 12-hour shifts
Full-time position
Additional Information
Travel nursing experience and trauma care experience are required for this assignment.
