Job Summary Medical Surgical Nurse (Location) The healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Medical Surgical (MS) Nurse to provide exceptional patient care on a busy acute care unit. The position involves managing diverse adult and pediatric Med/Surg patients, requiring strong clinical skills in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
Position Description: Provides direct nursing care to adult and pediatric Med/Surg patients, including those with COPD, post-op, GI bleeds, OBGYN surgeries, ortho, sepsis, altered mental status, stroke, cellulitis, and alcohol withdrawal. Must have 2-3 years of experience in the specialty, with pediatric experience preferred.
Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, ACLS (American Heart Association) certification, PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification preferred, minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, location in the specified area, and compliance with healthcare facility requirements.
Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week, with a rotation every other weekend and some holiday work included.
Additional Information: Orientation includes 2-3 days with a scavenger hunt; on-site hospitalist available 24/7; fast-paced unit with an average patient length of stay of 3 days. Float to tele or OB may be available for qualified candidates. The unit uses Cerner charting system; tele monitors are from a specified brand; RN staff do not interpret strips or titrate drips unless specified; charge nurses lead teams without assigned patients.
