• Specialty: Surgical Acute RN
• Unit: 63 beds
• Shift: 12-hour days, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
• Weekend: Every other weekend, Saturday & Sunday
• Holidays: Rotate every other holiday
• Call: None
• Charting: EPIC
• Ratios: 4–5:1 days, 5–6:1 nights; may reach 6:1 days / 7:1 nights if needed
• Required Certification: BLS (AHA)
• License: Active IL RN license or proof application has been started
• BSN: Not required
• Experience: Post-op surgical care, wound care, drains, NG tubes, central lines, TPN, IV therapy and pain management
• Patient Population: Post-op surgical, trauma, medical overflow
• Drips: No titration; heparin may be used
• Telemetry: Phillips monitors; monitor techs read strips
• Respiratory: CPAP and high flow; RT manages nebulizers, RNs manage inhalers and may place patients on CPAP
• PCT Support: Yes
• Floating: Travelers are first to float to units matching their experience. ICU RNs floating to general units take a team of 3 patients.
• Scheduling: Travelers do not self-schedule. Block scheduling may be considered if approved when the contract is established.
• Scrubs: Any color
• Orientation: 2 shifts with preceptor + 1 12-hour EPIC/professional orientation shift
• Call-Off: 12 hours per 13 weeks allowed without penalty
• Orientation: 12 non-billable hours; guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
• Drug Screen: Negative drug screen for all panels required
• Submission: Last 4 SSN, middle initial, requested RTO and IL license/application status
