Title: RN – Med/Surg
Location: New York, NY
Shift: 12x3 Night
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Provide direct bedside care to pre- and post-surgical patients.
- Administer and document prescribed medications.
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, catheter insertion, and IV therapy.
- Monitor vital signs and telemetry.
- Assess and report adverse medication reactions promptly.
- Operate and monitor specialized medical equipment.
- Participate in discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families on procedures and post-operative care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and patient charts.
- Follow nursing standards, protocols, and infection-control practices.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of Med/Surg experience.
- Experience in a large acute-care hospital or post-acute facility.
- Most recent relevant experience must be within the past 1 year.
- Strong skills in:
- Physical assessment
- Medication administration
- Wound care & infection control
- IV therapy
- Post-operative care
- Patient education
- Telemetry monitoring
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution.
- New York State RN License with Primary Source Verification.
- AHA BLS
- AHA ACLS required for Queens locations
Preferred
- EPIC EMR experience
