Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Surgical team. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care to adult patients with a range of medical and surgical needs, including trauma and orthopedic trauma.

Shift Details

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday
• Rotation: Flexibility in shifts, including day and night shifts based on unit needs

Unit Information

The unit is equipped with a 32-bed capacity and is certified for our specialized programs, including hip fracture management. The nursing staff are expected to adhere to high standards of patient care and documentation using electronic systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting with 200+ beds
• Active RN License (ND or Compact State)
• Current BLS certification (must be AHA)
• Experience with EPIC electronic documentation systems
• Ability to float to various Medical Surgical units as needed

Job Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and document care accurately in electronic health records
• Educate patients and their families about medication, treatment plans, and post-operative care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide optimal patient care
• Utilize nursing skills to care for a diverse patient population with various surgical needs
