• Schedule: Three 12-hour day shifts per week, 7:00 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and rotating holidays
• Call Requirement: No on-call requirement
• Work Setting: On-site inpatient care; floating may be required based on unit needs

Medical-Surgical Travel Nurse Requirements

• Active or conditional Massachusetts Registered Nurse license, with current license verification
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical/telemetry nursing experience; 2 or more years preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Recent hands-on experience with the EPIC electronic medical record
• Strong telemetry nursing skills, including cardiac rhythm identification and monitoring
• Ability to work every other weekend, participate in holiday rotation, and float when needed
• Two recent manager or supervisor references in a matching specialty
• Seasonal influenza vaccination required during flu season

Medical-Surgical and Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Care for patients recovering from general, orthopedic, gynecologic, and vascular procedures
• Manage patients with heart failure, chest pain, pneumonia, cellulitis, pancreatitis, and alcohol withdrawal
• Assess patients, administer medications and treatments, and evaluate responses to care
• Manage therapies involving heparin, TPN, Lasix, Cardizem, and non-titrating drips according to established protocols
• Identify and document cardiac rhythms at least every four hours and promptly report significant changes
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe, effective patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC while supporting continuity of care during transfers and handoffs
• Float to other units when needed and adapt quickly to changing patient-care priorities
