Job Description

The Department of Medicine Medical Specialties is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide triage and direct patient care in an ambulatory outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both in-person and telephone triage, managing acute and chronic conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person triage and direct patient care for patients with acute and chronic conditions.
• Conduct telephone triage and clinical assessments using appropriate techniques.
• Support General and/or GI surgical patients through comprehensive nursing practices.
• Administer injectable medications and conduct medication-teaching visits.
• Provide nursing visits in ambulatory endocrinology, diabetes, or medical specialty practice.
• Implement Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) placement and provide education related to insulin therapy management and self-management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience (within the last 12 months) in an ambulatory outpatient setting.
• Demonstrated experience in telephone triage and clinical assessment techniques.
• Strongly preferred experience in endocrinology, diabetes management, or related medical specialties.
• Experience in administering injectable medications and providing related patient education preferred.
• Proficient in CGM placement, education, and insulin therapy management strongly preferred.

Schedule

Available shifts include a daytime schedule from either 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
