Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (ER) in Walnut Creek, CA. This is a contract position with a focus on providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. We are seeking experienced RNs with a strong background in emergency nursing and travel experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population, including those with STEMI, STROKE, trauma, and other critical conditions.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to manage a fast-paced environment and respond to patient needs effectively.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physician assistants and respiratory therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Perform essential nursing procedures such as starting IVs, EKGs, and managing ventilators, while adhering to unit-specific protocols.

Requirements:

• Active California RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, with at least 2 years in the Emergency Department.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA only), PALS (AHA only) or ENPC, NIHSS.
• Experience with the Epic documentation system is required.
• Strong references and the ability to work all scheduled shifts (1p-1a, 3p-3a, 5p-5a, 7p-7a).
• Preferred certifications: CEN, TNCC; 3-5 years of experience; trauma and pediatrics experience.

Additional Information:

• Patient ratio by shift: 1:4.
• Daily average census: 190-200 patients.
• Good teamwork and a positive attitude are essential for success in this role.
