1. Unit Information

   • 22-bed Medical-Surgical unit
   • Patient population:
     • General Med Surg
     • Renal
     • Transplant
     • Urology
   • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5–6
   • Scrub color: Navy Blue
   • EMR: Epic

   Facility Requirements

   • Must float across all campuses:
     • Iowa Methodist Medical Center
     • Iowa Lutheran
     • Iowa Methodist

   Candidate Requirements

   • Minimum 24 months of current Med Surg hospital/medical center experience
   • Strong Renal experience
   • Strong Urology experience
   • Proficient Transplant care experience
   • At least 1 completed travel contract within the last 15 months
   • Epic EMR experience
   • Past or current Level I Trauma experience
   • Active Iowa license or Compact/Multistate license at submission

   Required Documents

   • Resume/work history showing 24 months of current Med Surg experience
   • Med Surg skills checklist
   • Active Iowa or Compact nursing license
   • Driver's license
   • AHA or ARC BLS certification
   • Nursys verification showing active license

   Preferred Document

   • Professional reference/reference check (charge nurse, supervisor, manager, director, CNO, or COO) within the last 24 months

   Orientation

   • Available dates:
     • August 17 (priority)
     • August 31

   Holiday Requirement

   • Must work 1–2 of the 3 summer holidays (unless the unit is closed):
     • Memorial Day
     • Independence Day
     • Labor Day

   Interview Process

   • Candidates are being interviewed quickly

   Local Radius Rule

   • 50-mile radius
   • 10% reduction to bill rate for local candidates

   Employee Separation Policy

   • Former UPH FTE or PRN float pool employees cannot work as travelers in another UPH market if they have worked there within the past 12 months.
   • This restriction does not apply to prior UPH travel nurses.

   Certifications

   • BLS (AHA or American Red Cross)

   State License

   • Iowa RN License or Compact/Multistate License required at submission.
