Job Title: RN - Orthopedic Surgery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in an acute care hospital as an Orthopedic RN License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS preferred, ACLS preferred Description: Travel position for RN in orthopedic surgery. Unit Information: 30 Beds available. Staffing includes 1 Charge Nurse, 4-6 bedside RNs, and 2-4 PCTs. Patient Ratios are 1:5 or 1:6. Equipment used includes continuous passive motion machines for specialty surgeries, nerve block pumps, On-Q balls, and electronic medical records system. Most recruited for are Travel RNs, local CNAs, and sitters. Candidates without the required skills will not be considered for the role. Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience as an orthopedic RN in an acute care setting. Preferred candidates will have Med/Surg experience. Experience with Meditech is also preferred. Typical procedures performed on the unit include IV starts, Foley/Straight catheterization, CPM application, and early mobilization.
