Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Positive attitude Willingness to work hard Ability to manage a patient load Effective use of teamwork strategies Commitment to providing patient-centered care Description: The unit consists of 30 beds for Ortho and 37 beds for Med Surg. Patient ratios are typically 6:1. Unit staffing includes Patient Care Technicians and a Unit Secretary during day shift hours. The documentation system used is Meditech. Schedules are organized in four-week increments. Full-time staff must work four weekend shifts during each schedule. Staff may float to inpatient units and assist with tasks in critical care and emergency departments. All levels of experience are welcome to apply. The unit requires staff to demonstrate advanced skills for procedures, though bedside procedures by physicians are less common compared to critical care or emergency departments. The required uniform consists of scrub tops and bottoms. Fleece, hoodies, sweatshirts, and jeans are not allowed. Staff may wear a long sleeve shirt under the scrub top or a scrub jacket.
