Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Orthopedic - $2,182 per week in Council Bluffs, IA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Orthopedic Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience License: Current RN License required Certifications: BLS Certification required Must-Have: Ability to pass necessary examinations during orientation Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical Orthopedic care. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of experience as an RN. Shifts are 12 hours during the night. The role will involve caring for patients with various diagnoses such as total knees, total hips, shoulder replacements, COPD, diabetes, wounds, IV infusions, dementia, oncology, fractures, sepsis, pneumonia, and more. RNs will work in a unit with a 1:5 patient ratio. There is a charge nurse on each shift who may also take a patient assignment. Nurse aides or patient care technicians are available on the unit with a 1:10 ratio. RNs will not be required to read their own telemetry strips as monitor technicians are present in the unit. Candidates must demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to learn. There is a strong emphasis on patient rounding and bedside shift reports in this unit. The team will work with a diverse patient population, including those with mental health and addiction history. Candidates must comply with specific policies regarding artificial nails. RTO must be provided upfront as additional requests may not be accepted. The cancellation policy permits up to 4 shifts to be canceled during the assignment period. The charting system utilized is EPIC.
