Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Orthopedic - $2,185 per week in Council Bluffs, IA

Registered Nurses are required to pass an open book exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90% to avoid termination. Artificial nails are prohibited in departments providing patient care. Driver's license is mandatory for evaluation of residence distance. Common patient diagnoses include joint replacements, chronic respiratory conditions, diabetes, wounds, and substance-related issues. Registered Nurses will not be required to titrate drips. Charge nurses are present on each shift and manage patient assignments. Patient care technicians assist with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:10. Monitoring technicians are available on-site; registered nurses will not be responsible for reading their own telemetry strips. Self-scheduling is utilized for shifts. Weekend work is required approximately every third weekend. Flexibility and self-direction are essential in adapting to unit changes. The primary patient population comprises individuals from various socioeconomic backgrounds. RTO must be submitted upfront as additional requests will not be approved. The hospital reserves the right to cancel scheduled shifts. Charting is conducted using an electronic system. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is not required. This is an acute care setting with a trauma level of 3.
