TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Ortho RN in Omaha, Nebraska, 68124!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Ortho Trauma Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Driver's license required - Compliance with fingernail policy regarding artificial nails Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a medical surgical ortho trauma unit. The department manages patients with a variety of diagnoses including joint replacements, fractures, COPD exacerbation, and sepsis. RNs will care for patients with a ratio of 1:5-6. Titration of drips for heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine is required. A charge nurse will be present on each shift. Patient care techs are available with a ratio of 1:10-20. Tele-monitor techs will assist with strip interpretation, although RNs should have some tele awareness. Shifts typically run from 0630-1900 or 1830-0700. Travelers will be scheduled but self-scheduling options may be limited. Every other weekend coverage is expected, along with 2-3 holidays from Thanksgiving to New Year’s. Floating to other medical surgical areas may be required. The dress code requires navy blue scrubs. Mechanical lifts are available in every other room. A strong focus on hourly rounding and responsiveness is critical. The unit manages multiple admissions and discharges daily. Success on this unit relies on effective management of daily business, attendance, teamwork, and patient-centered care. Patients served come from diverse cultural backgrounds. RTO should be indicated upfront, with limited additional RTO approved. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts during the assignment. Experience with the EPIC charting system is preferred.
