Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Orthopedic - $2,308 per week in Peoria, IL

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Orthopedics Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Active License Required Certifications: BLS Required Must-Have: Postoperative Surgical Care and General Med/Surg Care Experience Description: The unit has 43 private rooms. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-5 on 12-hour days and 1:5-6 on 12-hour nights. Common diagnoses include a variety of medical surgical and postoperative orthopedic cases, as well as trauma cases with fractures. Preferred candidates will have 1-2 years of clinical experience. A primary charge RN is present on each shift, along with a house supervisor available 24/7. Patient care technicians are available on the unit with a ratio of 1:7-8. The unit utilizes CPAP and heated high flow equipment as needed. Telemetry monitoring is managed with house-wide telemetry pack monitors. RNs are expected to read their own strips using Phillips monitors. Nursing staff will work 12-hour shifts with an every other weekend requirement. Travel RNs may float to similar Med/Surg floors if required. Scrubs of any color are permitted, and professional appearance must be maintained. All tattoos and piercings must be covered. Unit-specific orientation will be provided.
