• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs and provide compassionate care
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Provide clear patient and family education and discharge instructions to support recovery
• Use clinical judgment to recognize and promptly report changes in patient condition
• Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation in the medical record
• Contribute to a positive workplace by managing conflict professionally and supporting colleagues
• Meet Core Measure responsibilities and participate in continuing education to maintain excellence

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license (required)
• Current CPR / BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• NRP and PALS preferred when caring for neonatal or pediatric patients
• Experience or comfort working in orthopedics, surgical, or progressive care settings preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent documentation skills, and teamwork mindset

• Patient assessment, care planning, and evaluation
• Implementation and evaluation of plan of care with multidisciplinary collaboration
• Patient education and effective communication with patients and families
• Clinical judgment to recognize and escalate changes in condition
• Proficiency in documentation and medical records
• Familiarity with cardiac, interventional imaging, progressive care, ICU, ER, and recovery room settings is a plus

This is a contract travel assignment in southern Illinois. While on assignment in Herrin you can enjoy nearby outdoor escapes like Giant City State Park and the Shawnee National Forest for hiking and scenic views, fishing and boating at Lake of Egypt and Rend Lake, and a relaxed small-town dining scene in Herrin and nearby Marion and Carbondale. Southern Illinois University in nearby Carbondale brings cultural events, farmers markets, and local festivals, and plenty of weekend road-trip options for exploration.
