Job Details:
- Location: Austin, Texas
- Schedule: Nights, 12 hours shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Intravascular (IV) Certification for licensed vocational nurses (LVNs), and a minimum of 1 year of experience working in a Medical Surgical with Telemetry setting. No specific education level or additional experience specified.
- Preferred Qualifications: Certification in the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
- Unit Description: The unit has 30 beds, with staff comprising 60 members, including Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and Patient Care Technicians. The patient-to-staff ratio is 1:5, with equipment such as Welch Allyn Vital Sign monitors, COWs, Hoyer lifts, PCA pumps, virtual sitter technology, telepsych, and electronic medical records through Meditech.
- Responsibilities: The RN will provide comprehensive care including stroke assessments, EEGs, gastric decompression, and wound care, in a team-oriented environment. The dress code requires navy scrubs; hoop nose piercings are not allowed.
