Unit Information:
Number of Beds: 36
Staffing: Night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, and 3 CNAs
Patient Ratios: 1:5, with flexibility up to 6
Typical equipment: Telemetry
EMR: Meditech
Preferred Skills:
Experience with orthopedic and/or trauma patients
Common Diagnoses on the unit:
Polytrauma patients
Non-surgical cervical fractures cleared by spine
Orthopedic and trauma patients with downgraded traumatic brain injuries
Patients with no more than 3 drains
Burn downgrades
Management of Heparin and Protonix drips
Best Personality Fit: Team player
Unit Guidelines/Policies:
Be present on the unit by 0645 for huddle
Tardiness according to hospital policy is after 0653
4 weekend commitments are required
