Job Title: MS/Tele RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM) Experience: 2 years preferred License: SC license or Compact license required Certifications: BLS Required; ACLS Required; NIH preferred Must-Have: Tele competency required Previous charge experience preferred Community hospital experience preferred Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in the MS/Tele specialty. The shift is 3x12s, days from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM. The nurse will work with a patient ratio of 1:5-6. Every other weekend commitment is required. Floating within scope to meet facility needs is expected. First-time travelers are accepted for this position. The nurse must possess a valid SC license or Compact license prior to starting. BLS and ACLS certifications are required, while NIH certification is preferred. The facility has a Level III Trauma designation. The unit has a total of 286 staffed beds. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics. The average daily census is 36 patients. The unit diagnoses include diabetes, hypertension, coronary artery disease, seizure disorders, cerebrovascular accidents, transient ischemic attacks, and chronic respiratory disease. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary services. Knowledge in accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, and cardiac telemetry is essential. The nurse will also manage central line care, chest tubes, and perform pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care. There will be no requirement for call or floating outside the specialty. Participants should be aware of potential assignments to emergency response teams during hurricane season.
