Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $1,745 per week in Shelby, NC

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 18 months Med/Tele RN experience required License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Basic Med/Tele skillset including cardiac rhythm interpretation. Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips such as Cardizem and Amiodarone. Wound care and drain/tube management skills. Proficient in PIV starts and central line management. Description: Seeking a registered nurse for MedSurg/Tele unit. Facility has 241 licensed beds and operates as a level 3 trauma center. Unit consists of 32 beds with an average census of 28. Common patient types include total joint replacements, colon resection, gallbladder surgeries, appendectomies, amputations, medical overflow, hip fractures, and SBO. Patient ratios during the day are approximately 1:4-6, and at night, 1:5-6. In surge staffing situations, ratios may reach up to 1:7-8. Support staff includes CNAs and receptionists responsible for vital signs, baths, mobility, and blood sugars. Charge nurses provide assistance with nursing care. Phlebotomy services are available. Equipment utilized includes EPIC for electronic medical records, Alaris for IV pumps, and Omnicell for medication dispensing. Expected to float to other facilities as needed, based on regional requirements. Weekends rotate every other week with possible low census call obligations. Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays. RTO requests can be approved for up to six days off, excluding holidays.
