Must-Have:
Basic Med/Tele skillset including cardiac rhythm interpretation.
Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone).
General medical/surgical skillset including care of patients with tubes/drains.
IV start skills, blood products, wound care, and dressing changes.
EPIC EMR experience for at least 6 months.
Description:
Seeking an experienced RN for a MedSurg/Tele unit.
The unit consists of 24 beds with an average daily census of 24.
Patient types include various diagnoses such as cardiac, respiratory, and neuro.
This is a fast-paced environment with patient ratios of 1:5-6, possibly up to 1:7-8 in surge staffing.
Support staff includes CNA with a 1:12 ratio.
Charge nurse may have a patient assignment but is always a resource for the staff.
Phlebotomy and 24/7 respiratory therapy services are available.
A hospitalist is on site during the day, with virtual services available overnight.
Telemetry monitoring is provided remotely by a telemetry technician.
Floating within the region and scope of practice is required.
Travelers may float to various facilities as needed.
Weekend rotation is every other weekend.
Travelers may be called back for low census up to specific hours.
Expectations include working 75% of holidays.
RTO may be approved for up to 6 days off, excluding holidays.
Shifts are scheduled every 6 weeks.
