Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) in North Carolina. This position involves providing high-quality patient care within a fast-paced, diverse unit that manages a wide range of diagnoses including cardiac, respiratory, and neurological conditions. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

  • Location: Shelby, North Carolina
  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a cycle every 6 weeks
  • Required Qualifications: RN license, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, at least 6 months of EMR experience with EPIC, and 18 months of MedSurg/Telemetry RN experience
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation, non-titrating cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone), and general medical/surgical skills including care of patients with tubes and drains, IV starts, blood products, and wound care
  • Schedule: Night shifts from 0645-1915 and 1845-0715, with every other weekend rotation and potential callbacks for low census
  • Float: Within region and scope of practice; floating to all facilities listed within Region 3 as needed, with paid travel time during mid-shift floating
  • Additional Information: Average daily census of 24 patients; RN to patient ratio of 1:5-6 (up to 1:7-8 during surge); CNA ratio of 1:12; support staff includes CNA, Phlebotomy, IV team, RT, Hospitalist (on site days, virtual evenings/overnights), and intensivist (24/7). Orientation conducted in NEO for 2 days; parking available; unit culture described as "Awesome".
