Shift: 12-hour Nights (36 hours/week)
Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Unit Overview
- 32-bed Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit
- Average daily census: 32 patients
- First-time travelers accepted
- Minimum of 18 months of MedSurg/Telemetry RN experience required
Patient Population
- Stroke
- Respiratory illnesses (Flu, Pneumonia, COVID-19)
- Renal failure
- Peritoneal dialysis
- Wound care patients
- General medical-surgical and telemetry patients
Nurse-to-Patient Ratios
- RN: 1:5–6 (up to 1:7–8 during surge staffing)
- LPN: 1:5–6 (up to 1:7–8 during surge staffing)
- CNA: 1:10
Required Certifications
- Active RN license
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
Required Skills
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Management of non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone)
- Wound care
- Drain and tube management
- Peripheral IV insertion
- Central line management
