Job Summary:
Medical Surgical with Telemetry Nurse in Lufkin, Texas. This unit has transitioned to a Virtual Integrated Care Nursing (VIC) model and operates with a 12-hour shift schedule during days. The unit manages patients with diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, diabetes, pneumonia, chronic kidney disease, and musculoskeletal issues. The role requires effective communication and time management skills to ensure quality patient care.

Job Details:

• Shift Time: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: BLS Certification; minimum of 3 years of clinical experience; active licensure to practice as a registered nurse
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with telemonitoring or telehealth technology is advantageous
• Float: Will float to all medical/surgical units as needed
• Additional Information:
  • Must adhere to the schedule provided; block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
  • Bed ratios are 6:1, with a total of 24 beds
  • Patient equipment includes Cpap, Bipap, and high flow oxygen devices
  • On-unit staff include Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) and RN's are required to read strips and monitor patients via telemetry
  • Charge Nurse and Nurse Educators are available for support
  • Department orientation has been completed for the selected unit
  • Shift notes: 6:30 am to 7:00 pm, every other weekend required, and holidays are required
