Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit, managing a variety of med-surg diagnoses
• Maintain expected nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6 under normal staffing conditions (up to 1:7 during high census)
• Perform IV starts and monitor patients using telemetry equipment as needed
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR communication frameworks
• Float to other units or areas within the facility as needed
• Work every other weekend as required; expected to cover 2 of 3 major holidays per contract

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license – NC state license or Compact license (pending licensure acceptable for submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BCLS certification required
• Proficiency with IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• EPIC experience required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Local candidates are welcome; note that a reduced rate applies for candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
• Familiarity with self-scheduling environments
