Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $1,861 per week in Orangeburg, SC

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years minimum License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing - Ability to interpret dysrhythmias - Familiarity with telemetry monitoring Description: This position is for a Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse. The shift is three consecutive 12-hour days, from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6. Every other weekend work is required. The nurse may be required to float within their scope to meet facility needs. This is a new unit being built from the ground up. The unit has bedside monitors capable of telemetry, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry. Charge responsibilities are shared between the stepdown unit and the medical-surgical unit. Current status: 18 beds available. There is no off-shift management scheduled, but leadership is readily available during off-shift hours via phone. A house supervisor provides 24/7 coverage. Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams. If a candidate is a first-time traveler, they will be considered. Candidates with community hospital experience are preferred. All requested time off must be included at the time of submission. Completion of all required labs and modules is necessary before the start date. Candidates must possess the ability to manage dysrhythmias and adhere to isolation precautions/PPE guidelines. Daily patient diagnoses include common medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, chronic respiratory illnesses, and arrhythmias.
