Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $1,876 per week in Concord, NC

It serves as a teaching hospital with a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center of Excellence. The Emergency Observation Unit contains 10 beds with an average daily census of 8 patients. The patient types commonly seen include Chest Pain, Syncope, and Angina. The RN to patient ratio is 1:5, with a CNA to patient ratio of 1:10. Required skills include stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, and PIV starts. Additionally, the RN will manage chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, drains, and foley catheters. Medication management will involve cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and intravenous fluids. Support is provided within the department by a supervisor and charge RN, who may or may not have patients. Resource RNs will assist with admissions and discharges. A respiratory therapist is available 24/7, and hospitalists are on-site around the clock. Phlebotomy is a collaborative effort involving RNs and an IV team. The facility uses Epic for electronic medical records, Alaris for IV pumps, and Omnicell for medication dispensing. Travel nurses will have flexibility and adaptability when floating to other nursing units as needed. Floating to other facilities may occur based on patient care needs. Traveling mid-shift will result in compensation for travel time between facilities. Weekend rotation is every other weekend, and travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays. Request time off (RTO) can be approved for up to 6 days, excluding holidays. Shift times are from 0650 to 1910 and 1850 to 0710, with a schedule cycle of every 6 weeks.
