Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: Minimum of 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience; BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Description: Licensed for 457 beds. Level 3 Trauma center. Stroke Center of Excellence. Bariatric Center of Excellence. Chest Pain Center. Average daily patient census is 51. Patient types include chronic diseases, CHF specialty area, mental health, addiction services for patients requiring 6 weeks of IV antibiotics, COPD, DM, wounds, and geriatric care. General Med/Tele skillset required, including cardiac rhythm interpretation. Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips such as Cardizem and Amiodarone is necessary. Care of patients with tubes and drains is expected. IV start skills, blood product administration, wound care, and dressing changes are also essential. Support within the department includes a Nurse Manager, Administrative Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Supervisor, staff RNs, CNAs, Clinical Mentor, Rapid Response RN, and House Supervisor. Technology and equipment include an EMR system and department-specific equipment such as scales, GBS machines, transfer devices, vein finders, EKGs, crash carts, language interpreters, tele-medicine carts for online assessments, and Dopplers. Floating will occur within the region and scope of practice as needed. Travelers will be compensated for time spent traveling between facilities if floating mid-shift. Scheduling includes every other weekend rotation. No calls required. Holiday expectations include working 75% of the holidays. RTO: Up to 6 days off may be approved, excluding holidays, and contracted hours must be met. Shift times are 0700-1900 and 1900-0700.
