Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of Med/Tele RN experience License: RN License required Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred, Basic Cardiac Rhythm required Must-Have: Strong clinical assessment and med-surg nursing skills Experience with trach care and chest tube management Familiarity with IV insertion and care, central line management, and wound care Ability to coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team Experience in discharge planning and patient education Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the MedSurg/Tele specialty. The facility has 637 licensed beds with a Level 1 Trauma Designation. It is a teaching hospital and a Chest Pain and Stroke Center. The unit has 30 beds and typically has a census of around 30 patients. Patient ratios are 1 RN to 4-6 patients and there are 2-3 CNAs per shift. Common patient diagnoses include post/pre cardiac patients, CHF, COPD, STEMI, NSTEMI, and sepsis. Nurses will engage in cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation. Responsibilities include patient assessments, medication administration, and care coordination. Experience with insulin drips, heparin drips, and drips to titrate heart rate is essential. Nurses will provide strong clinical assessment and manage patient care effectively. The clinical team includes charge nurses, resource nurses, and a dedicated team for respiratory therapy. The unit operates with a focus on teamwork in a busy environment. There will be weekend shifts and holiday expectations as part of the schedule.
