Job Title: Registered Nurse - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 18 months Med/Tele RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Basic Med/Tele skillset, including cardiac rhythm interpretation - Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone) - Wound care and drain/tube management - Peripheral IV starts and central line management Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical/Telemetry. The nurse will care for an average of 5-6 patients, with potential surge staffing ratios of 1:7-8. Patient types will include those with strokes, respiratory illnesses, renal failure, wounds, and patients requiring peritoneal dialysis. Support within the department includes certified nursing assistants for activities of daily living and mobility. Healthcare professionals will include hospitalists and intensivists available 24/7, along with telemetry monitoring. Nurses may be required to float to other facilities within the region as needed. The department utilizes electronic medical records and various medical equipment to assist in patient care.
