Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $1,876 per week in Shelby, NC

Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 18 months Med/Tele RN experience required License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Basic Med/Tele skillset including cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with non-titrating cardiac drips, general medical/surgical care skills, IV start skills, blood products, wound care, and dressing changes. Description: Seeking a registered nurse for a MedSurg/Tele unit. The facility features 241 licensed beds and is recognized as a Level 3 Trauma center. Patients present with various diagnoses including cardiac, respiratory, and neuro cases. This role is in a fast-paced environment with an average daily census of 24. Patient ratios are typically RN: 1:5-6 on day and night shifts, with surge staffing potentially increasing ratios to 1:7-8. Support within the department includes a CNA with a 1:12 ratio, a charge nurse who may have patient assignments while serving as a resource for staff, and ancillary support teams available 24/7. Technological support includes EMR with six months of Epic experience required, IV pumps, medication dispensing units, and telemetry monitoring. Registered nurses may be required to float to various facilities within regional needs. Weekend rotations and holiday coverage are part of the scheduling expectations. RTO requests can be approved up to six days off excluding holidays. Unit culture is described as positive and supportive.
