Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Basic Med/Tele skillset including cardiac rhythm interpretation Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone) General medical/surgical care skills, including care of patients with tubes/drains IV start skills, blood product administration, wound care, and dressing changes Description: Seeking a skilled RN for the MedSurg/Tele unit. The facility has 241 licensed beds and is a Level 3 trauma center. The unit consists of 24 beds, with an average daily census of 24. Patient types and common diagnoses include a variety of cardiac, respiratory, and neurological conditions. The work environment is fast-paced and may involve observation patients. Typical patient ratios range from 1:5-6 during day and night shifts, with potential surge staffing leading to ratios of 1:7-8. CNA support is available with a ratio of 1:12. The role requires familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR), specifically EPIC, with a minimum of six months of experience. Technology used includes Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing. All patient rooms are equipped with Massimo monitors. Floating to other facilities within the region may be required based on operational needs. When floating mid-shift, the traveler will be compensated for travel time between facilities.
