Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $1,876 per week in Shelby, NC

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (1900 - 0700) Experience: 18 months Med/Tele RN experience required License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Basic Med/Tele skillset: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone), wound care, drain/tube management, PIV starts, central line management. - Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Stroke, respiratory illnesses, renal failure, peritoneal dialysis, wounds, etc. - Patient Ratios: RN: 1:5-6; surge staffing could have ratios of 1:7-8. - Support within the department includes CNA assistance with ADLs, mobility, and feeding. - Telemetry monitoring and tech available 24/7. Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in the Medical-Surgical/Telemetry specialty. The unit has 32 beds with an average daily patient census of 32. The hospital holds a Level 3 Trauma designation and is a certified Chest Pain and Stroke Center. Travelers can work in various facilities within the designated region as needed. The nursing team works collaboratively and maintains a patient-centered approach. There may be a possibility of low census call with the requirement to float per regional needs. Travelers will work every other weekend and about 75% of holidays. Requests for time off up to 6 days can be approved, excluding holidays. Scrub color is navy. Additional support includes a phlebotomy team and a 24/7 hospitalist and intensivist service. An EMR system is utilized, and virtual nursing support is also provided.
