Description:
Registered Nurse position in MedSurg/Tele.
Facility has 241 licensed beds and is a Level 3 Trauma Center.
The unit has 24 beds with an average daily census of 24.
Patient types include various diagnoses such as cardiac, respiratory, and neuro.
It is a fast-paced environment with observation patients.
Patient ratios are RN: 1:5-6 during day and night shifts, with potential surge staffing ratios up to 1:7-8.
CNA ratio is 1:12.
Support within the department includes charge nurses who may have patient assignments while being a resource for the staff, phlebotomy, IV/VAT teams, and respiratory therapy available 24/7.
Hospitalists are on-site during the day, with virtual coverage in the evenings and overnight.
An intensivist is present 24/7.
Telemetry monitoring is remote with telemetry technicians.
Technology and equipment include EMR, IV pump, and med dispensing systems.
Floating is within region and scope of practice.
Travelers may float to various facilities as needed.
Weekend rotation is required every other week.
Low census call may be applicable during shifts.
Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays.
Requests for time off may be approved up to 6 days, excluding holidays.
Schedule cycle is every 6 weeks.
