Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of MedSurg experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Skills in trachs, chest tubes, IV starts, wound care, dressing changes, wound vacs, drains, and cardiac rhythm interpretation. - Experience with non-titrating drips such as Heparin, Lasix, Protonix; preferred experience includes Cardizem and Amiodarone. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Medical-Surgical/Telemetry specialty. The unit consists of 20 beds. Patients primarily include those with CHF, COPD, and various kidney, liver, GI, respiratory issues, as well as CIWA patients and those with infections and wounds. The nurse will provide care for mostly medical patients but may encounter some general surgeries and other service line admissions. The ratio of patients to nurses is 1:5. Support includes clinical aides and dedicated leadership. The unit has access to 24/7 phlebotomy, respiratory therapy, hospitalist services, and residents. Telemetry monitoring is available, featuring bedside monitors and central monitoring at the nurses' station. The electronic medical record system used is EPIC, with IV pumps and medication dispensing systems in place. The nurse will not be required to be on call and will have holiday expectations. Scheduling will occur in six-week increments with the expectation of working every other weekend. Scrubs should be royal blue.
