Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical/Surgical Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; ONS preferred but not required Must-Have: - Cardiac rhythm interpretation - Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone with manager approval if no experience) - General medical/surgical skill set for the care of patients with tubes/drains - IV start skills - Blood product administration - Wound care and dressing changes Description: Looking for an experienced RN in MedSurg/Tele. The unit has a total of 34 beds with an average census of 32 plus 3 surge rooms. Primarily focuses on medical patients with some surgical cases. Patient types include ESRD, CHF, pneumonia, sickle cell crisis, diabetes, and acute/chronic renal failure. Starting in Spring 2026, the unit will include hematology/oncology patients. Travelers are not required to have chemotherapy certification and will not administer chemotherapy but should be comfortable caring for these patients. Patient ratios are RN: Days 1:5; Nights 1:6 (critical surge 1:7-8). Support within the department includes CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, and other dedicated support staff. The unit utilizes EPIC for electronic medical records, Alaris for IV pumps, and Phillips monitors. Floating may be required within the region and scope of practice.
